Due to last year's severe flooding in Thailand, numerous manufacturers received support from the BOI. They included more than 838 factories which were 35 % owned by Japanese investors. The flooding created a temporary halt to supply chains - especially in the automotive and auto parts industry. However, most manufacturers decided to continue using Thailand as their production base and are looking forward to the inauguration of the AEC in 2015.
