In early December 2011 the BOI Unit for Industrial Linkage Development (BUILD), Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), the Thai Tool and Die Industry Association, Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association and UBM Asia (Thailand) Ltd., joined forces to promote SUBCON Thailand throughout Indonesia.

Here are a few of the show’s special features:
 Exhibition: A showcase of Thai and Asian subcontracting industry products.

Business Matchmaking: Where top local and international buyers make appointments with exhibitors to discuss their needs. The program links manufacturers to suppliers and vice versa. It also allows both parties to make appointments in advance so meetings can take place at the show.

Buyer’s Village:  Where participating buyers can cover their parts requirements and procurement policies to local manufacturers.

Buyer Presentations:  Where Industrial buyers present their subcontracting needs and subcontractors can learn of a buyer’s requirements on-the-spot.

JAPAN Thailand

The recent floods in Thailand were more serious than expected. However, next to the recent tsunami in Japan there was little comparison. Flooding was limited to industrial part areas and did not generally affect electronic components, although damage was widespread. Automobile manufacturers temporarily had to cease production and the delivery 

of suppliers’ parts to assembly areas was interrupted. Most part makers were in areas damaged by flooding.



Japan's Ministry of Industry, reported in late October that more than 400 Japanese companies located in industrial estates had been affected by the flooding and were forced to temporarily halt or lower production. Most companies were leading manufacturer of famous brands and included companies in the electrical and electronic equipment sectors including; PCs, cameras and photographic equipment.
